Nicole Samodol, owner Rowlee Wines

When you set foot on the Rowlee property in the country side of Orange, NSW, you will immediately fall in love. The homestead, coupled with the manicured lawns and fresh country air, is so pristine that you can’t help dream of the house you’d love to one day own and live in. The dreamy and romantic setting was the perfect backdrop to capture the film for the Rose Collection, along with many of the lifestyle product shots. Amy x

What does self-care mean to you?

Self-care means taking care of myself so that I can be healthy and well. It means I can do my job, care for others, and achieve all the things I need to and want to accomplish in a day.

How do you practise self-care? What does your ritual involve?

By spending time outdoors. Being in nature helps lower my stress levels, makes me happy and improves my productivity.

When the going gets tough, how do you show yourself acts of love and kindness?

Vocalising the positive aspects of my life to others – hearing the words is important.

What brings you joy in the home environment?

I love infusing the home with fragrance to create a calming atmosphere.

What is your most treasured possession with sentimental value?

My engagement ring. Not only is it beautiful and unique in its design it was chosen by my partner James and symbolises our commitment to one another.

Tell us about your favourite weekend ritual.

Weekends are all about being hospitable and welcoming guests to Rowlee – our home and our place of business. I enjoy relaxing with friends mid-week, when things are less hectic.

What lessons have you learned in life?

If you want to do something new – get on and do it. If you want to stop doing something that’s no longer working for you – then make the change.

Do you have a favourite quote or words you live by?

"Too much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right." Mark Twain

Describe what scent means to you? Do you gravitate towards any particular notes?

To me scent is utilitarian and hedonistic. Scent is a central element in the making and enjoyment of wine. Through my work I experience a wide array of fruit, earthy, leathery, floral, herbal, mineral, and woodsy aromas from the wines we produce. On a personal note, I love the sparkling, clean and refreshing elements of citrus and evergreen. Coming into the cooler months, spice, smoke and vanilla notes evoke warmth and earthiness.

How do you indulge?

Once a month I make time in my diary for an Amy Erbacher facial.

Where is your home away from home?

While my heart is in the country, the occasional city fix is a must! I love the cosmopolitan atmosphere, creativity and energy of a big city.

What are you looking forward to most this year?

I am looking forward to welcoming new and returning visitors to our beautiful region.
